1.4 million Americans will be diagnosed with cancer this year. The disease costs the U.S. $228 billion each year in medical costs and lost productivity, but even worse is the physical and emotional toll it takes on patients and their families.
That's why the government must invest in prevention and early detection services and ensure that every American has access to high-quality insurance, even those with a "pre-existing" condition like cancer. Out-of-pocket expenses must be limited because a family should not have to use their life savings to save a mother's life because she has breast cancer.
Health reform will get us one step closer to our goal of a world without breast cancer. Decisions are being made right now in Washington, D.C. We can make an impact, but to do so, we need YOUR help, judi.

Unfortunately, cancer patients face many obstacles to getting the potentially life-saving care they need. At the same time, budget-strapped governments have put critical safety-net cancer programs at risk. We need your help to change all this.

for those of you who still read the newspaper, (yes, I am one of those!) there is an article in the Dem-Gaz today about the Komen Fitness training program that the Arkansas affiliate is beginning this year. The article is on page 1 of the Lifestyle section (or as I call it, the Comics section...)
