other ways to volunteer for Komen
3 ways to help out:
*Pasta Party needs to more silent auction items.
*Fitness Program will have a meeting of leaders on August 25.
170 are currently registered to participate. Kick-off is September 7.
*Survivor Luncheon is looking for door prizes.
Other activities:
*Three Miles of Men has been getting lot of questions. They can also be followed on Facebook and Twitter. 148 are presently registered for Three Miles of Men. They think this weekend at Dickey-Stephens Park will be a great opportunity to recruit more men to register. Anthony Lucas will be there part of the time.Registration reported that the bibs are in. They will be set up to register at the Travelers games this weekend. Race Space will be in Pleasant Ridge Town Center beginning October 2. 2600 are now registered.
*Skate for the Cure is September 13 from 1-4 with the ice show at 2:30 featuring Steven Evans, Novice Silver Medalist US Championship. This should be a great show.
*We have teamed up with Premium Refreshment (formerly Clear Mountain Water) to bring you Coffee for the Cure, our very own coffee. Bags will be $10 and will be sold in various retail outlets and at the Boutique. It should be ready by October 2. There will also be opportunities for tastings in various locations--definitely at the Pasta Party, Race, Survivor Breakfast and Survivor Luncheon.

reminders! reminders!
Hello my lovely Pink Racers!
Just a little reminder that ONE week from today, August 28th, (which is also Pay Day! YEAH!)
is the Registration Deadline for both the Race for the Cure and ordering team tee shirts.
Registration for the Race:
$26 for online registration; Komen will send your tee & race packet directly to your house.
Even if you can't be there on Race Day, you can still register and get your Komen shirt and be Pajamaware!
$25 offline registration; you will need to fill out and SIGN a registration form, and give it to either me or Wendy, along with your money.
Ordering Team Tee Shirts:
Prices are as follows for the team shirts (these are separate shirts from those you will get from Komen):
Sizes S - XL: $9.25 + tax (about $10)
2XL: $10.25 + tax (about $11)
3XL: $11.25 + tax (about $12)
4XL: $12.25 + tax (about $13)
We need to have a minimum order of 24 shirts to get these prices; so far we have about 20 orders.
If you don't think you can register for the race, but would like just the team shirt, we will still take your tee shirt order!
If you don't want a team tee shirt, but want to just register for the race, we will still be happy to take your $$ as well!
If you are paying by check, we will need separate checks for these, as the team tee shirts are being purchased from Image One, a company approved by the local Komen affiliate.
Remember, if you have *any* questions, Wendy & I will be happy to help get answers for you.
OOH, and don't forget, if you want to register for the FREE fitness program, I think there is still time! When you register online you will see the link for registering for the program. That will start September 7th (Labor Day) at 6:30pm at War Memorial Stadium.
Go BOOKENDS!!!
Thanks so much!
Pinkingly yours,
Judi & Wendy
