Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds

Well, I am officially old.
I saw this morning that the girl who was the inspiration behind the Beatles' song, "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds", has died. Lucy O'Donnell Vodden, 46, was a kindergarten classmate of John Lennon's son, Julian. Julian went home from school one day with a drawing and told his dad, "that's Lucy in the sky with diamonds."
Lucy had Lupus, and although she put up a fierce fight, it finally overtook her tired soul, and on Monday she went on to be a diamond in the sky.
Don't you wish we didn't have to worry about diseases such as lupus, or cancer? If you'd like to help, the Komen crew has a "Because I Care" fundraiser that also helps further cancer research. For those of you who gave this year when you registered online, a *big* Thank You! For those of you who haven't given, please consider donating either to Komen, the American Cancer society, or maybe Lou Gehrig's disease, or even for Lupus. By giving what you can, you will certainly be, for those dealing with sickness & ill health, a diamond in the sky.
